Today at Technology we were starting to carve our pieces of art.
Mr grundy introduced us as usually then he told us its carving day so we had to pick our design for the cutting I choose a muscle arm because i’m strong and kind and caring but if it doesn’t work then i would choose a cross for jesus cause hes the man.
secondly Mr Grundy thought us how to use the saw for the cutting he said to always stay calm and move slowly to get a prefect shape and to stop anytime but he had strict rules is to never take your eyes of the machine until its off second rule was to don’t distract the person who is cutting and no looking over their shoulders.
thirly Mr grundy had us to put our carvings into a mold for the melted pewter first is to grab to more pieces of wood and snap it together with the carving we just cut then Mr Grundy melts special metal called pewter its a bendable metal he melts it in a small metal bowl and the heat is very flammable so once the metal is melted then he pours it into the mold and leaves it to harden
lastly we checked up onto the molds and it was harden so we were ready for the carving but we were out of time so we were going to save it for next week.
